Establishing a Financial Shared Services Centre in Europe

The key strategic and practical issues involved in setting up a world class finance shared services operation...

March 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th 1998. Dublin Castle, Dublin, Ireland

The conference examined the opportunities for cost savings and world class customer service in backoffice financial processing and treasury in a single Pan European centre.

A growing number of world class corporations are establishing regional and global Financial Shared Services Centres. The trend is being accelerated by preparations for the introduction of the euro, which will provide a profound impetus for the emergence of a single European market in finance and financial services.

The event brought together an unique group of leading global experts from several disciplines which have a bearing on the practical questions faced by those who wish to implement Financial Shared Services Centres in Europe or who are interested in the further development of Centres that are already up and running.

* Delegates attended a reception in Dublin Castle at the end of Day 1 of the conference (March 11th) to the launch of the FINANCE DUBLIN IFSC Yearbook, by the Irish Prime Minister, (Taoiseach) Mr Ahern .
